God's Timeline

Where is humanity on God's timeline? Is the end near? The Bible is so specific in its prophecies that we can actually have a general idea as to where we are on God's timeline.

No man nor angel, but only the Father knows the day and hour of his return. However, God shares his prophecies through prophets in the Bible so that his people would not be caught blind to the coming judgment that approaches as a thief in the night!

Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

1 Thessalonians 5:2 "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."

Everything that is happening in this world is leading towards the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, the harvest of God's people (Rapture), and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

It is important to note, that though there are many theories on Biblical prophecy, we have to let the Bible define itself and

humble ourselves before God in prayer so that through the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can "prove all things; hold fast that which is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:19-2

There are dispensations in the Bible and they are an important tool to understanding how God interacted with His creation through His time and that we are saved by grace through faith. However, they may not point to a pre-tribulation rapture as there is solid Biblical evidence for the elect (believers) not being "raptured" for the tribulational time period.

The Bible does say that the elect are not appointed to wrath, so we know we will be with God by then. God's plan is perfect and too complex for us to ever understand, but we have nothing to worry about, Jesus is with us always, even untill the end of time!

There are many divisions among Christians because of the differences in prophetical views. It is important to remember that we are nothing without Jesus Christ. Our hearts and minds must be kept on him first. Whether we are here for great tribulation or not, we should always seek to fulfill God's perfect and pleasing will.
